New Blog
Just wanted to give a quick update. I am moving blogs! I basically need a change in the "shopping blogging" but still want to talk some about that in addition to other things I am interested in. Movies, books, etc. I also wanted to get a fresh start, so I am moving. I hope you will join me over at the new blog!!

OMG - The Talbots Spring Stuff!!!! I am going through some major withdrawals because I am not buying clothes right now. There are some STUNNING pieces, and I almost crumbled for my skirt. But the size I was going to buy would already be too big, so I am glad I waited.
Also, they had a recent clearance sale, and I grabbed a couple of pairs of shoes ($15 and $13) and a $23 trenchcoat, which I am sure I will be showing off at some point :) Anyone buy anything recently from Tal's?

So I realize that I have been a bit remiss in our relationship. Haha. But I have good reason. I have been working out at the gym several times a week, and have lost 20 lbs in the past 10 weeks. What this means is that none of my clothes fit.
I have never really felt out of place in my body - never felt the urge to diet or lose weight, basically, I liked how I looked. But recently, I have noticed I am super out of shape, trouble going up and down stairs, walking with dd around the lake, etc. I also have a horrible family history littered with diabetes and high blood pressure. So, being that I am not getting any younger. (Hmpf) I decided I needed to get back into the gym - the weight loss is a side thing for me, the workouts being the most important.
I have kept a few things in smaller sizes from years past, but not that much, so I am kinda hodgepodging it together. And since I am still losing, I am not ready to invest in a new wardrobe.
So, I am going to try and pop in every now and again, but for now, we are going to call this a semi-hiatus. :-)

Hi guys, I know i have been MIA for a couple of weeks, but I ended up doing back to back travel Dallas, TX and NYC for work, and then rolled right into my daughter's birthday! Its been hectic to say the least.

For V-day, the hubster and I just went to our fave casual restaurant in town, nothing fancy. I thought I would go ahead and try to get another use out of this Loft skirt.
The denim top is from New York and Company, it was like $6. Black tee is from the loft, and Skirt is from the Loft. :-)

My review:
I was allowed to chose any suit on the site, and while several caught my eye, I saw that Delta Burke had a collection available. Ok, so I cannot lie, I knew I would pick one of those because there was nothing I used to love better than watching the Sugarbaker sisters on Designing Women. One of my fave scenes is when Julia defended her sister Suzanne with the "Night the Lights went out in Georgia" speech in the "Beauty Contest" episode. Good times, good times.
Ok, so knowing that I was going to wear a Delta Burke suit narrowed it down for me right away, they have so many suits, that was the first big step. Next, "modesty" is a big issue for me and swimsuits. I have rather Victorian-esque sensibilities when it comes to clothing these days (LOL) so I knew I wanted something with shorts or a skirt. Now, I have never had a suit with a skirt (or skirtini), so I thought I would give that a try. So, I ended up selecting the Classic & Flattering Floral Fancy Halter Skirtini by Delta Burke to review for the blog.
I love the print on this swimsuit. Its similar to the print in the first photo above, dark blue, white and gold. The swim suit fits very nicely, is comfortable and true to size. Now I am just waiting for the summer months to come forth!
